Laycock j type overdrive solenoid

I replaced all of the o-rings accessible from the filter plate, so all except the plungers. Things I've done so far: I have swapped the solenoid with a known good one. This is a heavy item and would prefer you to collect but I will post to the UK only. 1 J-type overdrive not disengaging 02-03-2020, 02:10 PM As the title says, the overdrive engages fine, but will not disengage most of the time in my '73. See the pictures for confirmation of the condition These units were used in a number of vehicles and I assume this unit should fit more than just a Scimitar but advise you to check before bidding. This unit has never been used or tested so is sold as seen as I can give no guarantee but have no reason to believe it is not in perfect condition.

This unit today on their web page is over £1000. It was sold as a fully reconditioned unit, reconditioned by Overdrive Repair Services who I have used on an other project and know them to be a reputable company. Bought at an auction as 'Overdrive in bag' and it has stayed in the bag under my work bench till now. It contains: A clutch/hub connected to a planetary gear set.

Two hydraulic control pistons which engage or disengage the overdrive clutch/hub. Purchased many years ago (2004) for a Scimitar project that never happened. An electrically controlled solenoid which switches the overdrive between direct drive and overdrive.
